The Court of Appeals for the 14th District is based in Houston and is composed of a Chief Justice and eight (8) justices. It has intermediate appellate jurisdiction over cases appealed from the lower courts in the ten (10) counties listed below. The Court hears appeals in civil and criminal cases, though not death penalty appeals.
